South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham (R) is the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. In that role, he says that he no longer cares about the findings in the report issued by Special Counsel Robert Mueller regarding possible coordination between the Trump campaign and the Russians in the 2016 presidential election. Now Senator Graham says that he has yet to even review the full report produced by that investigation.
During a Senate Judiciary Committee featuring Attorney General William Barr, Graham said of the report:
“I can’t say I’ve read it all.”
During his questioning, Senator Graham made clear that he had not read the Mueller report. He claimed that Mueller had left the question of Trump obstructing justice to Attorney General Barr himself. That is simply incorrect.
Graham finally took to television to say he is “done” with the whole situation. He is now in Trump’s corner, and it appears he will stay there.
That statement was made during a Senate hearing opening statement and Graham seems to be sticking to it. Graham went on to say that he is not interested in the rest of Mueller’s findings, saying:
“I have read most of the report. For me, it is over.”
This should come as no surprise to any of us since Graham already went on television on Sunday and said the same thing. This was true even when the South Carolina Senator was confronted with the fact that Trump had floated the idea of getting rid of Mueller multiple times. Graham would not be moved, though. He said to CBS:
“I’m done. It’s over for me.”
Lindsey Graham may be done, but he forgets that the House of Representatives is now controlled by the Democrats. They are far from done. Either way, we will all see what is in the unredacted version. Lindsey Graham better be ready.
