Former firefighter Mark Taylor, who is now a self-proclaimed prophet and right-wing political commentator, has made some startling claims about Hurricane Maria.
While appearing on “The MC Files” he said that Maria, which ravaged Puerto Rico in 2017, was man-made and part of a conspiracy to “turn Florida blue.” The storm resulted in hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans being sent to Florida. He says those Puerto Ricans were sent to the state so they can vote Democrat. Taylor claims to have made the revelation when “the Lord talked to me about this.”
“What the Lord showed me is that there is a plan in place to try to steal Florida and Texas over to blue,” he said.
“Yes, we control the weather a lot of times, guys. We can generate these storms … If you’ll notice, right after the hurricane hit down in Puerto Rico and they had that big scandal with the mayor down there and all that stuff. They were trying to move half a million Puerto Ricans into Florida as a humanitarian effort. Give me a break! It was not a humanitarian effort, guys. That’s why they were holding the food up—that’s why the mayor was holding the food up—so they could justify sending them to Florida.”
Taylor has a history of publicly espousing radical right-wing conspiracy theories. Last year, while on the same show, he said that Hurricane Florence was generated to destroy evidence of voter fraud. He claims that the storm was made as a response to the federal government ordering the North Carolina board of elections to surrender its voter records.
More recently, he asserted that former President Obama will soon admit that he was born in Kenya to avoid charges of treason. He referenced a conspiracy theory that he said was from QAnon which claims prominent Democrats in politics, entertainment and business will soon be taken down.
“I don’t think the guy is American,” Taylor said. “It’s already been proven that that birth certificate is a phony.”
He also says that in 2011 the Holy Spirit told him that Trump would become president. According to Taylor, as a result of a Trump presidency, “America was going to prosper like never before.”
